Project Details:

The Rotorua Museum is one of New Zealand’s most iconic heritage buildings, located in the heart of the Government Gardens. Known for its distinctive Tudor-style architecture, the museum holds deep cultural and historical significance for the Rotorua community and beyond.

Rockbond is proud to play a role in this landmark restoration project. Working with Dizhur Consulting (Structural Engineer), Surfprep (Specialist Contractor), and Watts & Hughes (Main Contractors), our focus is on ensuring the structural integrity of this treasured building while maintaining its historic character.

A key feature of this project is the use of Rockbond’s Heritage-Grid system, which has been designed specifically for strengthening heritage structures. This innovative solution not only enhances the building’s resilience but also seamlessly integrates with its unique architectural details, ensuring the museum’s legacy is preserved for generations to come.

The restoration is a complex endeavour that involves meticulous planning, expert craftsmanship, and cutting-edge materials. It’s an honour to contribute to the preservation of this well-loved building, ensuring it can be enjoyed for decades to come.
