Raglan Wharf, NZ
Project Details :
Rockbond worked with BBR Contech on the strengthening of the iconic Raglan Wharf. This project was carried out during 2022, with completion in time for the 22/23 New Year holiday break.
Raglan wharf is a working wharf, used by charter, fishing, and tour boats, as well as being a popular spot for fishing. It was first opened in 1921 and the original part of the wharf was one of the first wharves in New Zealand to be built with reinforced concrete! A very prominent feature of the wharf is the old Golden Bay cement silos which were built in 1967 and have since been converted into holiday apartments.
The project involved the overall strengthening of the wharf, ensuring that it is used and enjoyed by the community and tourists for many years to come. Rockbond supplied BBR Contech with fibre reinforced sprayed concrete, steel primer, and micro concrete for the box and pour applications on the project.
Raglan wharf is another heritage concrete structure that has been strengthened by Rockbond remediation products! At Rockbond, we are committed to connecting durability to concrete.
