33 Bowen Street, the home of the Ministry of Education, is a modern 12 story Wellington landmark beside the main motorway that has always stood out due to the red trim under the windows.

The office tower has recently undergone a complete seismic upgrade to 150% NBS, transforming it into a flexible, resilient workspace.

Throughout 2025, Rockbond supplied a wide range of structural products/solutions to the team at LT McGuinness for the seismic strengthening of the building.

Large volumes of 1.04 GP Grout-Plus, 5.03HF Pumping Grout & 8.01 290/190 Epoxy Grout were pumped into the various seismic strengthening applications including; seismic dampers, dycore grouting, and chased slab grouting.

This project was a great example of Rockbond, LT McGuinness and the main project engineer working together to come up with the best ‘project specific’ solutions that reduced install time and cost for the asset owner.
