Project Details:

It closed its doors in March 2022 to begin work on a huge earthquake remediation project. Asteron House, Wellington’s largest, single office building at 48,000m2, 17 stories high and featuring office space over 12 levels, is workplace to 2,600 government and city workers.

During 2022, Rockbond worked with the team at McKee Fehl in the earthquake strengthening of this building to bring it back up to the earthquake code.

Significant strengthening works were carried out on the slabs on all levels of the building with steel reinforcing chased into the floors and grouted in with Rockbond 8.01 290/190 Epoxy Grout.

Over 3000 litres of epoxy grout was used in this project with the project running very smoothly from start to finish in a very tight timeframe.

Rockbond provided onsite training and technical support throughout the duration of the project to ensure that it went smoothly.

With high compressive flexural and tensile strength, and very easy application, 290/190 Epoxy is the ideal grouting product for earthquake strengthening projects.
